The Winter Gardens in B'mouth was the most frequented venue outside of London during the Beatlemania epoch. Lennon bought his aunt a beach bungalow in Sandbanks for £25k in 1965.

Here I am, back again, eight years later LOL (I mean back from my last comment😊). The guys who made this knew we would want to hear their Christmas greetings, again, so they ran that part twice in a row. Especially I had to hear John's goofiness again! 😅

John, is wondering, why bother going to America? British bands never do well in the USA. I think the rest should listen to John and stay in the UK. Americans are not going to like these lads from Liverpool. I bet no one will tune into their first TV performance in the USA. Funny though if you watch the full interview when they arrive the press is quite hostile. One press person asks them "are you for real" and snorts in derision. They tell them to get a haircut. Can you imagine years later when your only claim to fame as a journalist was being there when The Beatles arrived and asking a question and people ask, what did you say "are you for real!". Also amongst all the fans greeting them there were a group of young Republicans with signs saying "Beatles go home". When asked why they said they were worried about them taking money out of the US economy. Seriously.

I was born far too late to be able to attend this concert but what really hurts is my mother saying, “If they came to Bournemouth I may have seen them”. How can one not remember, totally beyond me. I have been a massive Beatles fan since I was very young just wish I’d had the chance to see them live and I certainly wouldn’t have forgotten.

No one will ever be able to convince me that John Lennon wasn't absolutely in love with Paul McCartney, platonically or no. He was just too macho to ever admit it but just look at him... Cynthia said John never looked at anyone the way he looked at Paul an it's TRUE. He never even looked at Yoko like that, I mean damn!

George said "A bit bumpy over Alaska ..." Weren't they coming from England? That would have been a continental detour/flyover to have been over Alaska coming from London's Heathrow before they landed at Idlewild. No reporter at the press conference found that unusual, no wonder those sods were asking questions like "Does all that hair help you sing?" WTF! I'd like to think George said that tongue in cheek and the non reaction must've confirmed his thoughts on American education. especially on geography.

I saw The Beatles, live, 2 days after this, on my 9th b-day in Portland OR. It was unreal. They played for 37 minutes. It seemed much longer. I thought, 'This is the best place to be in the world.' I was not wrong.
